Hey,

my name says who I am

I have been on and off the boards for years, this time around I am who I am.

Just turned 40, just returnes to the gym last year after a layoff that had 100% to do with some extra-curricular activities I struggled with and almost killed me.

Doing well now, 13 months later and working to get my ass in  shape. One day at a time.

I belong to a few boards out there, including MD, Ironage, RX, Canadian Bodybuilding, and of course this one.

Look forward to posting and sharing with you guys and girls

Cheers

Hello Everyone, My name is Kenny Guess. I started weight training in 1964 and from that very moment, I wanted to be a bodybuilder. Can't remember the first bodybuilder I saw in a magazine, probably Clarance Ross, Harold Poole, Chuck Sipes, but it was a Weider publication. I am 61 years old now and looking back over the years, bodybuilding has been a big part of my life and still is today in a different way. I was a competitor from 1969-1978, a contributing author for Iron Man Magazine (when Peary Rader owned it) an AAU and IFBB judge. In my active years in the sport , I had the pleasure to make friends with some truly great men of the Iron Game- Arley Vest ,Bill Pearl, Leo Stern, Red Lerille, Peary Rader, Roy Pfister, Brian Abadie, Renee Creadeur, Jimmy Gaubert,Frank Mule,Richard Baldwin, Glen Viltz, Steve Speryer. I have been teaching Physical Education for 38 years along with being the strength and conditioning coach of our local middle school football team in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
Bodybuilding in the 60's was still a 'behind closed door' sport....not very popular then a guy named 'ARNOLD' made his appearance and in a few years, well, you know what happened. I feel blessed to have been a small part of that revolution so to speak. Man, those were some great years! Getting together with a few guys to train was really special.....what I wouldn't give to re-live one of those blood, sweat and tears workouts!
Anyway, it is good to be on this site. I will visit when I can and look forward to learning new things and sharing some of my experiences......kenny
